Help and FAQ

Answers to common questions from songwriters, musicians and producers about protecting their music with Copyright Solved.

Copyright Solved was created to give songwriters and musicians a simple and secure way to protect their music. It provides an independent, timestamped record of any song, demo, lyric sheet or beat uploaded to the platform, along with proof of creation in the form of a downloadable copyright certificate.

You can upload your songs and audio recordings, lyrics and sheet music, and album artwork. All files are stored securely on our servers and linked to a unique ID on your digital certificate, which you can download at any time.

Copyright Solved is built specifically for songwriters, musicians, composers and producers who want independent evidence of when they wrote or recorded their music.

Whether you're pitching a song to a label, sending a beat to an artist, co-writing with another songwriter, or simply want to protect a demo before releasing it, Copyright Solved gives you a clear, dated record to point to.

Uploading your work is simple. Once logged in, click the Upload menu option and choose the type of work you want to submit — your song or audio recording, your lyrics, or your album artwork.

Give your work a title, list all songwriters or contributors in the authors field, and then select your file to complete the upload.

After uploading your song, lyrics or artwork, you must activate a certificate from the Your Work section.

You will need available credits to activate a certificate. You can purchase additional credits from Buy Credits.

Each certificate is linked to a unique ID and timestamp to ensure authenticity.

No. Certificates cannot be changed once issued. This ensures the integrity and reliability of the timestamped record.

If you update your work, you should upload the new version and generate a new certificate.

Your certificate can be used as independent evidence of when your song, beat or lyrics existed in that exact form.

It may help support a DMCA takedown request or a formal legal claim. For formal legal action, consult a qualified entertainment lawyer. See our guide on what to do if someone steals your music for a full walkthrough.

Certificates are usually available within minutes after upload and credit activation.

Credits are used to activate certificates. One credit is required per uploaded work.
